About the role

Recursive is building safe, recursively self-improving AI to automate knowledge discovery. We’re starting with AI that improves AI, using open-ended algorithms to create systems that keep discovering and building on what they learn. We’re hiring researchers and research engineers to develop the methods that make this possible.

This is a broad research opening for people whose interests connect to our mission, even if their background doesn’t fit a single specialized role. You’ll work with researchers and engineers to identify promising questions, develop ideas, implement experiments, and establish what works. We welcome deep specialists and researchers who connect ideas across fields; you don’t need experience in every area below. What success looks like

You produce reproducible insights and methods that improve the capability, reliability, or safety of Recursive’s systems. You make clear what changed and why the evidence supports it, learn quickly from unsuccessful experiments, and leave results and tools that help the whole team make better research decisions.
